DAY LABOR RECRUITING PAGE

Labor Description

Thanks for responding to our search for capable and reliable setup/takedown support for client events. We are an independent, metro-Atlanta based event services agency. Our primary services, for the purpose of this labor request, include event production and special guest accommodations. Onsite responsibilities normally include installation and removal of tents, tables, chairs, flooring, linen, lights, etc. If the event is production related there will be other equipment requirements. Responsibilities will also include loading and unloading trucks and trailers.

Our primary focus is outdoor events. Because of strict time commitments to clients, rain does not deter us from working, unless there is presence of high winds and/or lightning. Under those circumstances, we utilize available shelter and apply safety precautions. If rain is in the forecast, please bring rain gear.

1. SEGMENTS OF WORK

This is a key terminology regarding hourly rates. A segment is simply a complete setup or takedown of event equipment. Example: Completing setup and takedown of a single event equates to two segments, while doing the same for five events equate to ten segments. Our increased hourly rate starts with the eleventh segment. We pay four hours minimum per segment of labor, even if the segment takes less time to complete. Any additional hours are paid at the same rate, according to your segment level. We do not pay a higher rate for working over eight hours in a day.

2. HOURLY RATES

  • $15 per hour for segments one through nine
  • $20 per hour for segments ten and beyond
Please note: If a labor personnel leaves voluntarily or by mandate earlier than the four hour minimum, while work is still available, we will not pay a four hour minimum. We will only pay for the number of hours worked.

3. Timeframe of Pay:

We will pay the same day that labor is required. In the vast majority of cases, we pay within three hours of concluding the segment, however, because we may be occupied with other logistical responsibilities, we have until midnight to make the payment. If you are not able to wait until midnight for payment, please do not accept the labor request.

4. Methods of Pay:

Zelle or Cash App. We do not have cash on site.

5. GIG WORK

Our peak season is between April and October. The majority of our work is between Thursday and Sunday. Our volume of work is based upon client demand. At this point, we cannot guarantee a set number of cumulative hours or events.

6. Reliable Transportation:

This labor request requires dependable transportation. We do not provide transportation support.

7. Attire + Presentation:

Work gloves and work boots are highly encouraged. Ensure footwear is non-slip, particularly given that unloading trucks and trailers are part of the task. Jeans or khakis are preferred. The following are not allowed: shorts; clothing with offensive language or political messaging; facial and/or neck tattoos; vibrant hair colors such as platinum, red, green, orange, blue, yellow, etc.

8. Smoking:

Prohibited while working. If there is a necessity to take a smoke break, please do so outside of the work area.

9. Lift Capacity:

Must be able to independently lift a minimum of 50lbs.

10. Wireless Phone Courtesy:

Making/receiving calls are not allowed while working. If a call has to be made/received, please step outside of the work environment. If listening to music via a wireless device, headphones/earbuds are required.

11. Tax Reporting:

This is a 1099-based opportunity. Taxes will not be taken out of payments. Consistent with Federal reporting requirements, we have a tax reporting obligation once the labor personnel has received an accumulative minimum of $600 in a single year. Once that threshold is met, the labor personnel will be required to upload a valid (non-expired) Driver’s License and Social Security card via a secure web page which encrypts the file while in transit.
